How It All Began…
The Unorthodox Journey of Meagan Maxwell and Cameron Paris
It Started In 2010…
A creative group of people found themselves working at the Summit Sierra Starbucks. Two of those people were Cameron Paris and Meagan Maxwell.
Cameron was a connoisseur of the coffee world and had the responsibility of training Meagan the various methods of drink preparation and coffee knowledge. Funnily enough, that responsibility melded into a friendship.
This is the space where they learned how to craft personalized beverages while making unique connections with their customers.
As a symptom of such a job, they learned how to work as a team; and sometimes not as a team. At the young ages of 19 and 20, this set the foundation for learning the importance of clear communication and what it meant to have a good work ethic.
Little did they know, fast forward a decade later to 2020, the connection that they made would re-spark their friendship and create a different kind of team. Noteworthy comment: this was during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, so there were masks involved!
Our Story Continued in 2020
What a whirlwind of changes in 2020 – the whole world was being challenged. In the midst of all the unknowns and personal changes, we found our way back to each other.
With the rushing sound of the river, two souls reconnected with the magick aroma of coffee filling the air.
Meagan had thought this re-connection was a business proposal. But no; we just flowed. Enjoying each others company and curious about one another, we both left in a pleasantly confused recollection of our time together.
We talked as friends almost daily – offering a listening ear, giving encouragement, finding laughter, and pushing the other to think and challenge comfort zones.
From there, the two became seemingly inseparable by hanging out and creating memories in such ways as; swimming at Lake Tahoe, camping at Cascade Lake, sharing a magical breakfast at Sorensen’s Cafe (Hope Valley) and visiting Grandpa Doug in Salt Lake City.
Trolley Square; where unorthodox magick happened and M&C started dating.
Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City turned out to be where Cameron and Meagan finally allowed themselves to acknowledge their feelings. Cameron, knowing how special Salt Lake City was to Meagan, took note of one of her favorite places; Trolley Square.
Trolley Square is where Cameron & Meagan became UN-orthodoxically orthodox as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Drumroll… 2021
We’re Having a Baby!
A little pine cone is on its way, a ball of magick that surprised us both. With previous talks of not wanting children, there was no denying that universe had other plans for us. With Meagan living in Gardnerville, and Cameron in Reno – trucking 1hr. long drives to see one another was hard on both of us and really wasn’t going to work out long term. So, we moved in – all 5 of us: 2 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 dog with 2 humans and one on the way!
Nesting, researching, book-reading, healthy eating and putting in lots of self-help work; we both look forward to the future with our love, the love for our child and the unexpected that will come our way. We have been and will continue to support one another and be by each others side when things get tough, no matter what. We look forward to a happy and healthy baby and a happy, healthy, and flourishing relationship.
There has been a myriad of emotions ranging from the joy of a sunny day at the beach, all the way to mood swings that could be compared to being stranded on the top of a treacherous mountain in the midst of an abysmal ice storm . . . We are now able to empathize with the mixed bag of emotions that come along with becoming parents. We are excited, nervous, scared, joyful, and so much more – but mostly overflowing with love and happy anticipation to welcome our baby into the world.
